Cool Things Happen When You Drive a Corvair – Episode 84

Drove my Corvair last night to Les Yeux du Monde gallery in Charlottesville for an opening of terrific art by Rob Tarbell. The evening included the premiere of a fascinating piece of music by Douglas Boyce, as performed by the group, Harmonious Blacksmith. As always, the Corvair drew a crowd. The interesting thing about this crowd was it was all the artists: Rob Tarbell, Douglas Boyce, and the members of Harmonious Blacksmith, all sharing their own Corvair memories (everyone is two degrees from a Corvair, I firmly believe) and admiring the timeless styling of the Late Model convertible. Lots of fun. More on the exhibition is here.

Coulda been the car. Coulda been the author driving the car. Coulda been the stack of books protruding from the back seat. Anyway – glad to hear you’re making a scene wherever you go. And – a patron of the arts.
